CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION
3RD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
LANGUAGE, CULTURE, & POLITICS
9-10 JUNE 2011, KRAKOW, POLAND

Tischner European University (TEU) is hosting the 3rd International conference on the understanding of language, culture, and politics on 9-10 June, 2012. For more information about the conference and the paper requirements please contact Erika Grodzki (egrodzki@lynn.edu).


The conference registration fee is 35 euro, which will cover access to all sessions and conference materials.

A group of participants will go to dinner on Thursday evening at a Polish restaurant (not included in the conference fee). Participants may also choose to take a tour of the Wawel Castle on Saturday afternoon.

The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars and students of linguistics, sociology, culture, international relations, and political communication. Areas of interest include (but are not confined to):

* Mass Communication, Media Studies, and Political Communication, Comparative Literature, Rhetoric, Art (i.e., Music, Painting, Theater, and Dance) Drama, Film, Television, Advertising, Public Relations, Poetry and Prose, Visual Communication
* Linguistics, Language Acquisition, Teaching of Foreign Languages (including Technology in the classroom), Sociolinguistics, Translation
* Sociology, Political Communication, International Relations


Top conference papers will be published if received by the 24th of June 2011. Conferences participants will be notified in advance if their papers were selected for inclusion in the publication. The papers will be peer-reviewed by academics in the given field and selected as top papers.

If you are interested in presenting at the conference, please submit a 300-word abstract by 12th of May 2012, by email to egrodzki@lynn.edu. You will be notified by May 20th if your paper has been selected. Please send two files. One file should contain the following: Title of Paper, Name (s), and Institutional Affiliation, Current Position, plus an email address and keywords that describe the subject of your paper. The second file should include only the Title of the Paper and the Abstract. There should be no names listed on the second file. There will be a blind review; therefore, no information that identifies the participant should be included.
